What is EDGE?
The formation program from LIFE TEEN focuses on evangelization and missionary discipleship.
The Core Team members (or catechists) are to accompany youth in their personal encounter with Jesus and to grow in friendship and holiness.
EDGE Sessions are thematic, engaging, and deeply evangelistic and disciple-making. The sessions have FOUR parts: GATHER, PROCLAIM, BREAK, SEND.
EDGE Sessions include hospitality (food), games, conversations, and service projects. It is ultimately an engaging catechetical formation that focusses on personal conversion, friendship, and discipleship. It gently draws teens to reflect on faith and life in a truly caring and loving environment.

Content & Format!
- Content: Every Edge session is framed within and around the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Scripture, and Sacraments. It uses the articles of the Catholic faith in a way that is deeply evangelistic and for forming the next generation of missionary disciples. It leads the teens to personal conversion, to grow in friendship with Jesus and the Church, and to become joyful witness of His love and mercy in the world.
- Format (Gather-Proclaim-Break-Send): Unlike the classroom model, this format focusses on the principle of accompaniment (hospitality, listening, conversion, equipping, praying, and sending).
- Edge Core Team: Serve perhaps more as hosts and helpers (and certainly NOT as teachers), deeply focused on creating hospitable space where teens will have conversation, trust each other, form friendships, and be equipped to proclaim Jesus.
