Baptism is the first Sacrament of Initiation. It is our entrance into new life in Jesus Christ and membership in the Catholic Church. Baptism calls us to ongoing conversion. When a child is brought for baptism, parents commit themselves to make a home where the Gospel is lived. Godparents and members of the community promise to support the parents in this commitment.

Parents are expected to attend a pre-baptism session prior to celebrating a baptism.  Please call the parish office to find out the dates of the classes. Most baptisms are held directly following a Mass. Please call the parish office at 515-987-4597 to set a date or to inquire about other arrangements.

Check our online events calendar to learn time, date, and location of our next pre-baptism session.
